Senior Capstone
Final Designs for Senior Showcase
The Senior Capstone is a course that takes place over one semester and gives time for students to prepare for the final showcase that takes place for each department at Point Park University. For the graphic design senior capstone, us students have to prepare for a showcase where we sell some of our designs, make profits, and invest in our future careers. For the showcase, us seniors came up with the idea of doing a market/gift shop mixed in with a museum type feeling and have to create one big print to go in a frame to give it that museum vibe, following tote bags and greeting cards to sell. There is also the option of creating art to sell, so I decided to create bedazzled art with various gem sizes and colors with designs that follow the theme. The big print is to inform those on not to declaw animals paws, which is where the “Keep your paws off my claws” and the vibe that I really wanted to follow is this bright, vibrant, girly glittery, neon aesthetic mixed with this inspiration from the 2000s and the Y2K era.
